Lately, I've noticed a pattern what I've been pinning onto my "Style" board on Pinterest: flats. (Hence the corny pun in the post title.) In high school, it was pretty standard for me to wear Rainbows and Jack Rogers 85% of the year with Uggs taking over that last 15%. While these shoes are still staples for me, I've realized there is something to be said for the smart, stylish, yet still (ideally) comfy flat. My main problem with shelling out money on flats is that it feels kind of ridiculous when I can find similar styles at a fraction of the cost... I can only justify buying expensive shoes if I know I will get a lot of wear out of them, and let's be honest: fashion flats are not something I wear everyday. Enter: a little game of Splurge or Save! I found some cute shoes and did a little hunting for their lesser expensive (and yes, probably lower quality) counterpart. Time to put these shoes head-to-head (or toe-to-toe hehe!)!
Leopard-licious!
Splurge: Kate Spade $228
Save: Forever 21 $19.80
Splurge: Loeffler Randall $250
Save: Forever 21 $22.80
Splurge: J. Crew $278
Save: Old Navy $26.94
**Not pictured: another "Save" at Forever 21 $29.80 **
Splurge: J. Crew $138
Save: Steve Madden $39.95
What do you think? I have a few more pairs that I'm drooling over but still can't find a cheaper solution to match... If you find any cheap-o dopplegangers for the following, please let me know!
So in love with these whimsical Loeffler Randall polka dots flats- they give off a Kate Spade meets Wofford Terrier vibe, don't ya think? Too bad there's no way I could justify the $295 they cost!
Yet another gorgeous pair of Loeffler Randalls- I first found these while searching for a Tory Burch lookalike (actually, the pair in the picture below), but was disappointed to see these still cost a pretty penny.
Ahh, Tory. Think you could hook a sista up with some of these, or any of your shoes, for that matter?! (PS: she really is my Kappa Alpha Theta sister!)
Goodness gracious, these Kate Spades are something else! Colorful, sparkly, and topped with a big pink bow, these are basically my spirit-shoes, but let's be honest: these are not meant for the real world.
Well, I think I've done enough shoe-assessing for the night, considering the fact that my next pair of shoes will probably be new running shoes! However, like I said in my random-but-semi-necessary post this morning, Christmas is just around the corner, and I'm always looking for good things to put on my wish-list, so if anyone has any advice about comfy flats, or flats that are worth the "splurge," please let me know!
I'm so excited that tomorrow when I blog, I'll be blogging from the comfort of my house, near my mom and dad! Yay! (By the way, Dad, if you're reading this, be ready to help your daughter with some geometry... Heehee!)
